Top European clubs—including Real Madrid and Liverpool—have reportedly shown interest in Wharton, who is tied to a contract with Palace until 2029. In response, the club is said to have placed a £100 million valuation on him in a bid to deter potential suitors.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, who made over 450 appearances for the club, has now urged his old team to enter the race for Wharton this summer. He even went so far as to compare the young midfielder to one of his illustrious former teammates at Old Trafford.
