Cardiff Devils lost 5-1 at Nottingham Panthers on Wednesday, their second straight Elite League loss.
The Panthers took the lead in the first quarter with to goals from Logan Neilson and Sam Herr.
Riley Brandt gave Cardiff a response in the second half, but Tim Doherty gave the home team a two-goal lead again.
After three consecutive victories, Nottingham moved up to second place in the table when Herr scored his second goal of the evening after Matthew Alfaro added a fourth.
